Scope Langsuan

Scope Langsuan is a luxury condominium development located on Langsuan Road in the central business district of Bangkok, Thailand. The project is being developed by Scope Development, a leading property development company in Thailand.

The development consists of a single 33-storey tower with a total of 156 units. The units range in size from 1 to 4 bedrooms, with floor areas ranging from 49 to 313 square meters. The building features modern and luxurious design with full height windows that offer panoramic views of the surrounding city skyline.

On the east and west elevations the facade consist of facetted strip windows arranged to form waves horizontally across the facade. There are 5 different configurations stacked
randomly above each other to create a unique patterned effect distinguishing the tower from other developments.

The mullions of the strip window system are designed to accomodate a range of angles between adjacent glass planes while maintaining weather and airseal integrity and presenting a uniform external appearance.

The window systems include wide picture windows up to 2.7m in width, full-height juliet balconies with open-in glazed doors and glass balustrades, as well as traditional top hung windows.

On the north facade a unitised curtain wall with glazed shadow boxes encloses many opaque zones of the units including storage and parts of the bathrooms. On the south wide balconies with full height sliding doors open onto views over Lumpini Park and the business districts to the south.

The Podium features another unique facade system – a unitised curtain wall system with a shallow depth behind the glass and an external fin with semi-circular stainless steel caps. The fins are an integral structural part of the mullion allowing significant space saving behind the glazing line. The stainless steel rolled caps clip onto aluminium extrusions and provide bright vertical accents all round the lower levels.

The many different unique systems presented challanges during fabrication and installation, Facade Associates supported the Contractors throughout the design, fabrication and installation stages to help deliver to our Client another sophisticated and unique building envelope.
